Girls Like Me Project, Inc. announces the 11th Annual Chicago Day of the Girl. Britney Robbins had dreams of starting a teenrun magazine when she first arrived in Chicago 12 years ago. She pivoted and founded The Gray Matter Experience six years ago, with the goal of exposing Black high school students and young adults to entrepreneurship.
Ruby Buah started KUA Designs by accident. She didn’t go in wanting to start an accessories business. She was a financial analyst and started taking jewelry making classes. She was hooked and blown away.
Michael D. Anthony, Ph.D., has been the president of Prairie State College since October 2021. Anthony is also the first Black president of the College. Dr. Anthony’s undergraduate experience at North Carolina State University set the tone for his career in higher education. His
last year there, he was the student government president and a board of trustee member.
