The South Suburban College Baseball Team captured their 14th Regional Championship on Saturday, May 14th, following a hard fought 12-inning victory over Region-IV Tournament host Triton College by a score of 9-8. The Bulldogs improved
their season record of 41-17 – the 13th time they have reached the 40-win mark in school history .
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, ComEd is excited to introduce its latest summer STEM program, the ComEd EV Rally! Young women in Illinois can now apply to the ComEd EV Rally, a competition that challenges teens to build electric-powered racecars. Thirty young women will work with ComEd women engineers to build high-tech racecars and race them in Chicago as they explore career pathways in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

Today, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle announced the Cook County Promise Guaranteed Income Pilot. 21c Museum Hotel Chicago is thrilled to host a free jazz and spoken word poetry event in collaboration with Free Fyre’s Rebirth Tour at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 22. Organized by Free Fyre, a collective of artists, performers and spoken word poets, the Rebirth Tour will travel nationally to cities across the country, including Chicago. Through jazz music and poetry, the Rebirth Tour will retell the story of the Harlem Renaissance, conveying the impact and influence of these artistic mediums on Black culture.

The Illinois Health and Hospital Association (IHA) includes 210 hospitals across Illinois. It has long been committed to improving and strengthening access to healthcare in the State. During 2020, with COVID-19 and the murder of George Floyd, IHA wanted to take bold steps to address racial health inequities. It established a committee on health disparities, which is comprised of 25 hospital CEOs from across the state.
