CHICAGO (December 4, 2024) - It’s a true “Miracle on 31st Street” this holiday season when Home Run Inn Pizza (HRI), renowned in Chicago for its Tavern-Style thin crust pizza since the 1940’s, and the City of Chicago’s Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) once again join hands to distribute 5,000 pizzas to over 30 Chicago Homeless Shelters at the Original Home Run Inn located at 4254 W. 31st Street for one magical hour on Tuesday, December 10 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Chicago’s very own Dreezy Claus and The Caroling Connection will also be there making spirits extra bright!

"DFSS is excited to partner with Home Run Inn for another year to distribute pizzas to all of our homeless shelters. The holiday season offers a chance to rediscover generosity and human kindness. Each pizza that we hand out is more than a meal – it’s a way to show those in need that we care. We at DFSS are so grateful to Home Run Inn for creating this opportunity to bring warmth to residents at our city-funded homeless shelters. Their benevolence will help us spread holiday cheer across Chicago and help shelters make the holidays a little more special for the residents they serve,” said Commissioner Brandie V. Knazze, Department of Family and Support Services.

“At Home Run Inn Pizza, we are truly thankful for the chance to give back to the Chicago community, particularly during the holiday season," said Gina Perrino Bolger, Senior Vice President of Home Run Inn and fourth-generation family member. "Our donations to local shelters are our way of sharing a little warmth and hope with those who need it most, and we are deeply honored to play a small part in bringing them joy.”
