CPS High School Interns to Spend Summer Documenting Transit History with CTA Red Line Extension Project

This summer, two Class of 2025 graduates and a rising senior from Corliss Early College STEM High School will have a front-row view of one of Chicago’s most transformative infrastructure projects — the 5.5-mile Red Line Extension (RLE). As licensed drone pilots, the students will document the early stages of construction through a unique internship with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and its construction management contractor, REDefine Southside Partners Joint Venture (RSP-JV).

Largest Suicide Prevention Event in the U.S., the Out of the Darkness Chicagoland Walk, Steps Off on September 27

On September 27, people from across the region will come together for largest suicide prevention event in the country: the Out of the Darkness (OOTD) Chicagoland Walk. This annual event helps prevent suicide as well as bring hope to those affected by suicide. Sponsored by the Illinois Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), the three-mile walk starts at Montrose Harbor and runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 27.
