Soulful Chicago’s Holiday Book Fair Is Largest Of Its Kind That Showcases Books by Black Authors
Just in time for holiday shopping, Soulful Chicago’s annual holiday book fair will feature more than 100 Black fiction, non-fiction and children’s titles by many of the most sought-after and lesser-known Black authors in Chicago. This exciting literary event takes place on Saturday, December 15, from 10am to 6pm at the AMC Center, 4421 S. State Street, Chicago.
The largest event of its kind, Soulful Chicago Holiday Book Fair provides a unique opportunity for visitors to meet and talk with more than 50 authors. In addition, visitors will be able to purchase food, bring children to the youth “Burst Into Books” reading club, and listen to live music, storytelling and poetry, among other planned activities. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
“There is no place this large in all of Chicago where people can surround themselves with Black books to buy for the holiday season,” says Asadah Kirkland, author and founder of the event. “We love watching patrons not only buy varieties of books, but also love watching them personally meet the authors that wrote them.” For more information, visit www.soulfulchicagobookfair.com or call 646-359-6605
