Hadiya Pendleton who was shot and killed Jan. 2013, was remembered and honored by her classmates, the King College Prep High School faculty and commencement speaker, First Lady Michelle Obama, during the school's graduation ceremony held June 9, 2015. Hadiya's parents, Cleo and Nathaniel Sr., and little brother, Nathaniel, Jr. were on hand to accepte her cap and gown and class ring.

Mrs de la Renta - a New York philanthropist and socialite - is also put in control of the funds, which include a $3.3 million Citibank account and a $1.2 million tax refund. Rather than Moises, de la Renta's stepdaughter, Eliza Bolen, was named as an alternate executor of the will, Page Six reports. In 2005, The Post reported Moises was building his own fashion 'empire' which aimed 'to bring the de la Renta aura to a younger crowd' but the line, MDLR Black, never took off.
