The new $45 million dollar center will provide training in the fast-growing fields of transportation, distribution and logistics. More than 110,000 jobs are anticipated in these sectors in the next decade. The Olive-Harvey College construction project itself will create 150 jobs for Chicago residents—and some construction positions are being designated for residents in wards in surrounding areas.  Seats have been reserved for qualified residents without prior training in a special construction-training program offered at City Colleges’ Dawson Technical Institute—and applicants can still apply.
