Kyra Harvey decided to seek the services of Bottom Line when she was a senior at James H. Bowen High School. She needed the extra help to apply for colleges. They also helped her apply for scholarships.
What started out as a pop-up shop where 200 wreaths were sold has grown. Eight years later, 12-15 young people create wreaths for six to eight weeks, selling almost 700 door wreaths and 150 Holiday Décor Wreaths. The young people who participate in the program are provided with a stipend, which allows those young people to receive more income.
The Master Plan for the Roseland Medical District has gone to the next steps in the process. The plan was released by the Department of Planning and Development for public comment until Monday, Nov. 7th After November 7th, no additional public comments could be made.

SPRINGFIELD – While a new law overhauling Illinois’ system of pretrial detention continues to face scrutiny ahead of its Jan. 1 implementation date, new research suggests that the old cash-based system “results in much less pretrial detention than is generally assumed.”

By law, the Commission is required each year to review the Police Department budget before the City Council votes on it.
