The Queen of Soul, Aretha Louise Franklin, died on Aug. 16 at the age of 76 after battling advanced pancreatic cancer. The 18-time Grammy Award winner passed away at her home in Detroit with her family and loved ones by her side, according to a statement issued by Franklin’s family through her longtime publicist, Gwendolyn Quinn.
