South Suburban Mayor Celebrates 100-Year-Old Resident With Honorary Street Renaming
Wayne Adams Sr., also known as The Voice of Raceway Park in Calumet Park, recently turned 100 years old and to honor his legacy, the Mayor of the Village of Dolton, Riley Rogers, renamed Parkside Avenue as Wayne Adams Way. The renaming ceremony was held on Adams’ 100th birthday and several of his family members, south suburban residents, and elected officials came out to celebrate.
CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT NOW ACCEPTING PUBLIC COMMENT ON GANG DATABASE POLICY DRAFT
The Chicago Police Department (CPD) recently opened up a portal on their website for Chicagoans to give feedback on the Criminal Enterprise Database, also known as the Gang Database. This public comment period will close on May 11 and at that time, the CPD will consider the public comments before finalizing and implementing the updated policy.
