A suburban Chicago man was sentenced recently to 16 years in federal prison for attempting to detonate an explosive device at a bar in downtown Chicago.

On June 10, Thornton Township will kick off its free Summer Camp for Township residents. The camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday and will conclude on August 1. The camp will offer both Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) programs for a wide range

Dione Wilson has been selected as the new Principal of Park Elementary School, effective July 1. She will replace retiring Principal Dr. Dell McFarlane. Dr. McFarlane will retire at the end of the school year after 23 years in District 148.
