The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute has partnered with more than 50 cancer organizations across the country to issue a call to action urging individuals, providers and insurers to increase access to and utilization of low-dose computed tomography (CT) scans for those at high risk for lung cancer.

ComEd, Peoples Gas, and North Shore Gas to Collaborate on Gas Meter Reading
The Illinois Commerce Commission has approved an innovative collaboration that enables Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas to securely transmit natural gas meter data via ComEd’s smart grid communications network, creating new efficiencies and cost savings for gas customers and reducing carbon emissions. Together, the two natural gas providers serve more than 1 million customers, and the majority receive their electricity service from ComEd.

LUV Institute gears up for its Wreaths of LUV project
What started out as a pop-up shop where 200 wreaths were sold has grown. Eight years later, 12-15 young people create wreaths for six to eight weeks, selling almost 700 door wreaths and 150 Holiday Décor Wreaths. The young people who participate in the program are provided with a stipend, which allows those young people to receive more income.
ROSELAND MEDICAL DISTRICT MASTER PLAN GOES TO NEXT STAGE
The Master Plan for the Roseland Medical District has gone to the next steps in the process. The plan was released by the Department of Planning and Development for public comment until Monday, Nov. 7th After November 7th, no additional public comments could be made.
