The Illinois Commerce Commission has approved an innovative collaboration that enables Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas to securely transmit natural gas meter data via ComEd’s smart grid communications network, creating new efficiencies and cost savings for gas customers and reducing carbon emissions. Together, the two natural gas providers serve more than 1 million customers, and the majority receive their electricity service from ComEd.

What started out as a pop-up shop where 200 wreaths were sold has grown. Eight years later, 12-15 young people create wreaths for six to eight weeks, selling almost 700 door wreaths and 150 Holiday Décor Wreaths. The young people who participate in the program are provided with a stipend, which allows those young people to receive more income.
