A Day of Wellness + Jump Rope-a-Thon Fundraiser Focused on Movement, Healing, and Community Care

Black Girls Jump, the nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the art of Double Dutch and promoting health through culturally relevant fitness, proudly announces Jump, Heal & Thrive — A Day of Wellness + Jump Rope-a-Thon, taking place Saturday, May 16th in Chicago.

This dynamic, second annual family-friendly fundraiser, co-hosted by The FoundHERS Suite and Morgan Park United Methodist Church, combines two signature experiences into one powerful day of purpose: the energy of a Jump Rope-a-Thon and the restoration of a Day of Wellness.

Designed to uplift the health and well-being of women, girls, and families, the event will feature:

•             Double Dutch jump rope showcases and pledge fundraising

•             Wellness workshops and expert demonstrations

•             Yoga and fitness classes

•             Beauty and self-care experiences

•             Holistic health resources

•             Healthy food and beverage offerings

•             A curated marketplace featuring wellness creators and community partners

Girls participating in the Jump Rope-a-Thon will collect pledges to help support Black Girls Jump programs that promote movement, confidence, leadership, and healthier communities.

Guests can shop and engage with a curated local lineup of participating brands and community partners including New You Wellness, 411 ImmuniTea, Pot O’ Greens, Southside Healthy Community Organization, Heal The Land - A Beaded Bracelet Co, and more exciting partners joining the experience.

“Jump, Heal & Thrive is more than an event—it’s a celebration of wellness in every form,” said Ayana Haaruun, Founder and Executive Director of Black Girls Jump. “We are creating space for our community to move with joy, access valuable resources, and invest in whole-person health.”

Since 2014, Black Girls Jump has used the joy and legacy of Double Dutch to address health disparities among Black women and girls while building confidence, connection, and community.

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the Black Girls Jump non-profit organization will host Jump, Heal & Thrive- A Day of wellness + Jump Rope-a-Thon.  The event will be held at the Morgan Park United Methodist church (MPUMC); 11030 S. Longwood Dr., Chicago, IL 60643.
