GLCU and LetMeDoIt Attend AAIDD Conference, Highlighting Technology’s Role in Advancing Independence for People with Disabilities
Bannockburn, IL (July 6, 2026) – Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) joined LetMeDoIt at the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) conference on June 23 and 24 in Chicago. Throughout the conference, attendees learned how LetMeDoIt helps people with disabilities organize decisions, engage trusted supporters, and build confidence through a clear, step-by-step technology experience.
As part of the GLCU and LetMeDoIt collaboration, GLCU members can receive a LetMeDoIt subscription free of charge for their first year of service. The offer underscores GLCU’s commitment to expanding access to innovative tools that support financial confidence, independence, and inclusion for individuals with IDD and their support networks.
Amit Sahgal and Angad Sahgal, co-creators of LetMeDoIt, participated as panelists in the conference’s closing session, which focused on the use of technology in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) community. Their participation highlighted the growing role of technology in helping people with disabilities navigate daily decisions, access support, and participate more fully in their communities.
“The feedback we received at AAIDD reinforces the importance of accessible technology that meets people where they are,” said Amit Sahgal. “LetMeDoIt gives people with disabilities and their families and caregivers a practical way to support decision-making while preserving autonomy and dignity.”
“Our collaboration with LetMeDoIt is about connecting people with practical tools that support confidence, independence, and everyday decision-making,” said Dan Starck, GLCU’s Manager of Business Development. “When we can help make resources like this more accessible to our members and communities, we are advancing our mission of Banking for a Greater Good in a meaningful way.”
“As a parent, I know how important it is to give my son tools that help him feel supported while also building independence,” said Megan Gargano, a GLCU Insurance Services agent whose son with autism uses the LetMeDoIt app. “LetMeDoIt gives our family a clear, encouraging way to work through decisions together and celebrate progress along the way.”
GLCU’s partnership with LetMeDoIt reflects a shared belief that inclusive financial services and accessible technology can work together to remove barriers and create new pathways to independence.
