(Press Conference) Quinn Chapel AME Church, 2401 S. Wabash, Chicago, Illinois
Over 100 major religious leaders from throughout Cook County will travel to Quinn Chapel AME Church to publicly confirm their collective endorsement for Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle to be re-elected for another full four-year term of office in the upcoming March 17th Democratic Primary.
The endorsement comes as faith leaders warn of growing threats to SNAP benefits, healthcare access, immigration protections and democratic institutions, arguing that this election represents a defining moral moment for Cook County.
The group, led by a core of religious coalition leaders, described their endorsement as a values-based decision rooted in President Preckwinkle's proven leadership, fiscal stewardship, and consistent defense of working families and vulnerable communities
This mass Clergy group views this election as not just a case of political math, but a movement to ensure thatPresident Preckwinkle continues her phenomenal track record of excellence in the management of the government of Cook County.
“In this critical era of divisive politics in Washington DC, my support is guided by the need for strong leadership. President Preckwinkle has shown consistent courage in defending democracy and standing with working families. She is our strongest advocate for this critical hour." says Pastor Michael Eaddy of the Peoples of the Harvest C.O.G.I.C. of Chicago
“I’m proud to support President Preckwinkle to continue her incredible work as President of the Cook County Board of Commissioners. The President has been a steady, principled, and proven leader. She is someone who listens deeply, fights for working families, and believes in an America where inclusion is our strength, not our weakness. In a moment when Chicagoland needs courage, competence, and moral clarity, the President stands ready to serve with wisdom and integrity.” says Apostle Carl White of the Victory Christian International Ministries.
Pastor Ira Acree of the Greater St. John Bible Church adds, “In this season of political smoke-and-mirrors, my choice isn’t about identity—it’s about integrity and truth. President Preckwinkle has stood tall when others shrank back and fought for working people with conviction. I’m supporting the candidate whose record meets the urgency of this moment—someone ready to confront extremism, defend democracy, and stand up for justice. We don’t need a placeholder; we need a truth-teller and a real fighter.
Bishop Shirley Coelman of the Spiritual Wholistic Ministries of Love and Faith concludes, “I’m supporting the President because she has a proven record of delivering results, building coalitions, and standing firm against extremism. At a time when democracy is under assault, we need a leader with experience, independence, and the courage to confront threats to our healthcare head-on.”
The clergy leaders will speak publicly of their support for President Preckwinkle, but also dispel the unfortunate mistruths being carried out against her from her opponent.
