Capacity Crowd Attended The 2026 Rich Township State Of The Township Town Hall Meeting
(Richton Park, Ill) Calvin Jordan-Rich Township Supervisor- was recently joined by the Rich Township Board of Trustees, Rich Township Residents, State Officials, Local Mayors, and a capacity crowd as he gave a healthy and prosperous outlook for the Township. Moreover the mass crowd collectively celebrated Rich Township's 176th year of existence.
"As we now embark upon the 176th Annual Rich Township Town Meeting Report, each elected Township officials, staff, providers, and our elite volunteers remain steadfast and committed to our mission of “Answering the Call” to our constituents, amid the growing fiscal challenges of the nation." says Supervisor Jordan.
Supervisor Jordan adds, "Our remarkable success is due in part to each stakeholder who has been relentless in their collective quest to deliver goods and services to all our residents. They include public officials throughout the southland, Cook County, and the State of Illinois. We remain engaged through awesome relationships with the many clergy, civic organizations, health groups, and business leaders who all have an undying spirit of cooperation and fulfillment to our residents at large."
It has been well documented of the enormous obstacles that Americans are now faced with because of rising inflation, an often uncertain economy, along with an ever-changing world in which technology has increased its presence more so than any other time in our nation’s history. Like the previous four years, the challenges of post-COVID-19, disparities in healthcare, spikes in unemployment, and extreme weather patterns are still ever prevalent. However, Rich Township has proven to be a regional leader in delivering as well as the expansion of services that are determined based upon downward trends in the fiscal health of our nation.
Rich Township's past accomplishments have been well regarded. Many of the Township's programs have not only been recognized and awarded, but they have also been benchmarked by other townships throughout Illinois. Which includes the Mancave Program, the Senior Program, and the management of the General Assistance program. While Township officials are grateful for those acknowledgements, Supervisor Jordan remains steadfast in that none would be possible without his fellow township officials, staff, and volunteers. They are the real heroes and honorees to whom he shares in any award given to the organization.
Rich Township stands as a shining example of unity in diversity, perseverance in adversity and strength in community. It is in this spirit of camaraderie and collaboration that will allow us to overcome the woes of the nation’s economy, the issues of hunger and matters of employment opportunities.
“Rich Township Supervisor and board of Trustees continue to be good stewards over the tax dollars which they preside over. The food pantry is regarded as best in class within the southland.” says Matteson Mayor Sheila Chalmers-Currin.
Illinois State Representative Debbie Meyers-Martin adds, “Rich Township exemplifies excellence and compassion in all its endeavors. But moreover, the township gives justification and cause to why Township government is relevant and critical in the state of Illinois.
Over the past several years the Township has been bestowed two well deserving honors. In 2022 The Townships of Illinois (TOI) presented the government with the prestigious Township of the Year award. In 2023, TOI presented Calvin Jordan with the Supervisor of the Year Award.
“We love serving our residents. Honesty and integrity are our mission, our focus, and our driving force.” says Rich Township Trustee Jackie Small.
“I am grateful, honored, and fortunate to be part of an outstanding team of elected officials whose primary focus are the residents of the township. Collectively we are in the business
