Black Bench Chicago Welcomes 30 Emerging Leaders into 3rd Cohort
Chicago, IL — [September 5, 2025] — Black Bench Chicago is proud to announce that 30 dynamic young leaders have been selected to join the organization’s 3rd cohort. These individuals come from every corner of the city, bringing with them a wide range of experience in business, community engagement, and public service.
The new class reflects the heart of Black Bench Chicago’s mission: to equip, mentor, and elevate the next generation of Black leadership in Chicago. From professionals managing major civic projects to grassroots organizers to young people working in health, education, and entrepreneurship, the cohort represents the rich diversity and talent of Black Chicago.
The 2025 program will launch on Saturday, September 6, with its first session, featuring nationally recognized facilitators Xavier Ramey, Ken Bennett, and Chris Percy. Over the course of the program, participants will engage in intensive leadership training, networking, and skills development to prepare them for lasting impact in their communities and beyond.
“I could not be more excited about this new class. Their drive, perspective, and commitment to service show that the future of Black leadership in this city is in powerful hands,” said Alderman Ronnie Mosley, co-founder of Black Bench Chicago.
Black Bench Chicago was created to build a pipeline of Black leaders prepared to serve, organize, and lead across all sectors of civic life. With its 3rd cohort, the program has now engaged nearly 100 emerging leaders since its founding.
