Chicago Residents Rally as Men Wear Pink Ambassadors for the American Cancer Society

Chicago – The Men Wear Pink of Greater Chicagoland has announced its ambassadors for 2025. 45 leaders from community will join together with the American Cancer Society to raise funds to support breast cancer research, patient programs, and direct services.

Men Wear Pink was designed to engage more community leaders and influencers in the American Cancer Society’s vision to end breast cancer as we know it, for everyone (watch video). Community leaders around the nation use the power of wearing pink during the month of October to draw attention to the cause, while also raising funds and awareness through events and social media for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer initiatives.

“Breast cancer has shaped my life in ways I never imagined. I watched my grandmother battle it three times with unshakable strength,” said Steve Smith, Senior Account Executive at RWB Trucking, LLC, and first-time MWP Ambassador. “My mother faced an aggressive diagnosis in my college years, enduring over 20 surgeries, chemo, and radiation—yet she kept working to support us. My aunts, too, fought bravely. These women are my heroes, and their resilience drives me to act. That’s why I’m part of the Men Wear Pink campaign with the American Cancer Society.”

Men Wear Pink ambassadors raise awareness and funds to support Men Wear Pink by committing to raising at least $2,500 and wearing pink every day in the month of October.

“My wife was diagnosed with Stage III Invasive Lobular Carcinoma in March of 2023. After a double mastectomy, several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation sessions, we are blessed that she is in remission,” said Chris Jeffrey, Principal at Baker Tilly, and 2025 MWP Event Chair. “However, her battle for a full recovery remains ongoing given additional complications. We've also been blessed to have had an unbelievable support group along the way in our family and friends and have been fortunate to have met many unbelievably strong and inspirational people along the way! Continuing to spread the word about early detection is critical. Being a part of this campaign will help me continue to do just that.”

Men Wear Pink began in 2013 as a movement in Jackson, Tennessee, and has since raised more than $80 million since its inception. Over the past decade, thousands of leaders across the country have rallied in support of the American Cancer Society’s work to improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients and their families.

“In addition to the family and friends that have battled breast cancer, I have two daughters and two granddaughters and want there to be meaningful, early diagnosis, treatments and support so they remain healthy and live long lives,” said Paul Kiser, Founder & CEO at Xperience Games LLC, and also a first-time MWP Ambassador. “This is a great group of guys that are part of the campaign and have great support from the American Cancer Society team to aid in our efforts.”

For 110 years, the American Cancer Society has been a leader in the fight against cancer. More people are surviving cancer than ever before, but there is still work to be done. Dollars raised through Men Wear Pink help the American Cancer Society fund innovative breast cancer research, provide education and guidance to help people reduce their risk, and offer comprehensive patient support to those who need it most.
