The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce & Partner Organizations Announce Chicago Loves Local: 77 Reasons to Shop Small
Every Neighborhood Has a Story. Support Yours.
CHICAGO -– The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce, the Chicago Is With You Task Force, the Rogers Park Business Alliance and the Committee on Immigrant and Refugee Rights are proud to announce the launch of Chicago Loves Local: 77 Reasons to Shop Small, a citywide campaign celebrating small businesses in every one of Chicago’s 77 community areas.
Inspired by Albany Park’s successful Shop Small Wednesdays campaign on Instagram, this new citywide effort unites neighborhood business alliances, immigrant rights advocates and community leaders around a shared goal: to highlight local entrepreneurship through storytelling, digital promotion and civic pride. Together, the partners behind Chicago Loves Local aim to connect residents across Chicago’s neighborhoods through their shared love of small business and community.
The campaign’s slogan, “Every Neighborhood Has a Story. Support Yours,” reflects a simple truth: Chicago’s local businesses are the backbone of our communities, each carrying a piece of the city’s identity. Through storytelling, digital promotion and on-the-ground activations, the campaign will amplify small business voices and invite residents to put their money where their block is.
Beginning this month and leading up to Small Business Saturday on Saturday, November 29, 2025 the campaign will feature small business spotlights across social media and an interactive citywide map showcasing shops, restaurants and service providers that define each neighborhood. Chicagoans can follow @chicagoloveslocal to discover featured businesses, hear directly from owners and find new reasons to support local.
As the campaign continues, it will also include punch card promotions and prizes to reward those who show their support for neighborhood businesses. By shopping small, residents can earn limited-edition merchandise and other locally sourced prizes while contributing to a stronger, more connected Chicago.
“We were tasked by the Business Subcommittee of the Chicago Is With You Task Force with helping to create campaign materials that other Business Service Organizations can use,” said Laura Austin, Executive Director of the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce. “Our hope with this campaign is simply to help bring people together. We wanted to make it easier for organizations across the city to share resources, promote their districts and celebrate the incredible small businesses that make Chicago what it is. When we come together, everyone benefits, one small business at a time.”
Austin adds, “We hope you’ll shop neighborhoods on, leading up to, and beyond Small Business Saturday. In Andersonville, we’ll be hosting giveaways that day to thank our community for showing up. Even if you can’t shop, you can still support by sharing the campaign assets, posting photos from your favorite local spots and helping spread the word. Everything has been made public so everyone can take part.”
“77 Reasons to Shop Small” is more than a campaign; it is a call to action. Every purchase made at a local business helps sustain jobs, preserve neighborhood character, and strengthen the city’s cultural and economic fabric.
