Deadline to apply for exemptions is April 21
Cook County -- The Cook County Assessor’s Office will offer virtual events in both English and Spanish over the next month for homeowners to learn about exemptions.
Exemptions are savings that contribute to lowering a homeowner’s property tax bill. Exemptions applications for the 2024 tax year are currently available through the Cook County Assessor’s Office. Applications are due by Monday, April 21, 2025 and applicants are encouraged to apply online.
The CCAO regularly hosts events for homeowners who may have questions about their eligibility for different exemptions. A list of upcoming events is available at cookcountyassessor.com/eventlist.
