Nourishing Hope and Growing Home Partner to Expand Access to Healthy Food and Job Readiness Resources in Englewood
CHICAGO, Ill. — Nourishing Hope, one of Chicago’s leading hunger relief and social service organizations, is announcing a new partnership with Growing Home — a USDA-Certified Organic urban farm, workforce development center, and nonprofit social enterprise located in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. Through paid, innovative job training and access to affordable, locally grown produce, Growing Home empowers individuals and strengthens neighborhoods. The partnership will bring Nourishing Hope’s Online Market to Growing Home’s South Side location.
“I’m excited for this partnership to support the exceptional services that Growing Home provides to the Englewood community. They have excellent job training programs and rich support for their students. It’s an honor for Nourishing Hope to join them as a partner — bringing free, monthly food distributions to their site, available for anyone experiencing food insecurity,” said Nourishing Hope’s program expansion manager Natia Barnett.
The Online Market is a flexible, user-friendly platform where individuals and families can order food online and pick it up at a convenient time. By offering pickups at Growing Home’s urban farm campus, the partnership will bring 15 days' worth of fresh, nutritious food directly to anyone who registers to pick up at the Growing Home location.

This new partnership reflects the shared mission of both organizations: to nourish people with holistic, community-based solutions.
Founded in 2002, Growing Home is Chicago’s premier organization for farm-based workforce development, providing paid job readiness training, support services, and hands-on farming experience to individuals with barriers to employment. Based in Englewood — a neighborhood long impacted by systemic disinvestment — Growing Home also strengthens the community through affordable produce sales, neighborhood engagement, and advocacy.
“We’re proud to partner with Nourishing Hope as we continue our mission to ensure everyone has access to meaningful work, nutritious food, and a strong, supportive community. Together, we’re building a future where no one is left behind,” said Zenobia Williams, Director of Employment Training at Growing Home.
To purchase produce directly from Growing Home, please attend Growing Home's farmstand from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays, now through October. Our farmstand is proud to make hyperlocal, certified Organic produce available by accepting and matching Link dollars.
Nourishing Hope is one of the largest and longest-operating hunger relief organizations in Chicago, providing the equivalent of more than 4.5 million meals annually. Serving with dignity and respect, the organization’s mission is Nourishing Hope through food, mental health and social services so that all neighbors can thrive. Through walk-in food pantries, online ordering, home delivery, and health-focused partnerships, Nourishing Hope removes barriers to support services — providing food for today and hope for tomorrow.
