Illinois State Legislative Session Kicks Off with Focus on Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support
As the 2025 Illinois state legislative session gets underway, advocates for individuals impacted by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia are rallying support for transformative legislation aimed at supporting families and caregivers. The Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter is leading the charge with an exciting statewide campaign to amplify the voices of those who have been affected by the disease.
This year, the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter is calling on all Illinois residents to join their effort in advancing nation-leading legislation to assist families and caregivers navigating the complex challenges of Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Building on the success of last year’s efforts, the Chapter is once again organizing a statewide phone call campaign to ensure that the needs of Illinoisans impacted by dementia are heard loud and clear in Springfield.
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 5, as the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter hosts its Day of Action. This day serves as an opportunity for advocates from across the state to come together virtually and call upon their state legislators to support critical Alzheimer’s-related policies.
“The 2025 session is a pivotal moment for advancing legislation that will provide the necessary resources for families and caregivers facing the daily challenges of Alzheimer’s and other dementias,” said the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter in a statement. “By participating in our Day of Action, you are making a direct impact on the lives of Illinois residents and the thousands of families who need help navigating this devastating disease.”
The Day of Action will be held virtually, giving anyone who is passionate about supporting Alzheimer's and dementia families the chance to take part, regardless of location. Advocates are encouraged to register now to ensure they can participate in the event, which will include phone calls to state lawmakers urging support for critical policy changes.
