(Chicago, IL) – Early Walker and Kevin Corcoran of E&R Towing- will surprise the family of a seven-year-old boy who recently lost his mother, Romeca Meeks-Blackmon, to gun violence, with a full-scale Christmas full of Toys, Electronics, and X-Mas decorations for their home. Walker and Corcoran will be joined by members of the Chicago Police Department and community leaders. Walker and Corcoran will also present a $3500.00 check to the mother of Meeks-Blackmon to assist with her guardianship of her grandson.

Seven-year-old Carlos Smith is currently being raised by his grandmother, Ms. Tina McMiller. Ms. McMiller is currently still in a state of mourning over her daughter’s death but has been courageous in her mission of making every attempt to provide Carlos with a quality of life that most kids his age should enjoy. This includes having a well-rounded Christmas season full of toys, clothes, and other items.

According to local news reports, Prosecutors said Meeks-Blackmon had just dropped her then 6-year-old son off at school at 9:06 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8. The baby's father, identified in court documents as Witness One, had just parked nearby with Johnson and their six-month-old child in the vehicle. Prosecutors said the two women got into a verbal argument. The baby's father tried to break it up, but then, according to prosecutors, became physical with Meeks-Blackmon, putting her in a chokehold.

Prosecutors said Johnson then walked back to her car, got her gun and shot Meeks-Blackmon multiple times, then fist-bumped the baby's father. Meeks-Blackmon was rushed to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where she died.

Upon hearing of this case, Walker reached out to Ms. McMiller to inform her that she and Carlos would be this year’s recipient of E&R Towing’s Annual Secret Santa campaign which was designed to help a family in distress due to gun violence.

At 8:00 AM, Mr. Walker, along with Mr. Corcoran and their E&R Santa’s helpers, will be given access outside the home as they will install Christmas decorations all throughout the property.

At 9:30 AM, Ms. McMiller will walk Carlos outside the home where he will notice the extreme Christmas makeover and will be formally introduced to their Secret Santa (Mr. Walker). Five minutes later the Chicago Police Department will escort Four Huge E&R Tow Trucks decorated as Reindeer carrying thousands of dollars in toys and electronics to the home where young Carlos now resides. Santa’s workers will begin unloading the trucks and deliver the toys into the home.

At 11:00 AM, the Chicago Police Department will provide an escort for Ms. McMiller to the Daley Center where the homicide trial concerning her daughter’s death is set to begin at 11:30 AM.

Popular R&B recording artist Zion Ali will be on hand to sing Christas Carols to young Carlos and Ms. McMiller. Mr. Walker and Mr. Corcoran will also present to the family a check in the amount of $3500.00 to assist with the welfare of Carlos.

“When I was told about this story my first concern was this innocent seven-year-old boy who is battling his own stressful dilemmas. No kid should be subjected to this type of emotional stress. Hopefully, we can bring a smile to his face and be a blessing to Ms. McMiller who is now responsible for his quality of life.” says Early Walker

Kevin Corcoran concludes, “Early and I have a keen sense of what it means for businesses to stand in the gap during difficult times. E&R Towing is committed to not only ensuring that we provide a spirit of excellence approach to doing business, but to also be of assistance to families such as Ms. McMiller’s in times of crisis and distress.”
