TEE OFF FOR A CAUSE: CHICAGO SCOTS’ 24TH ANNUAL KILTED CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT RETURNS THIS SEPTEMBER

Bust out your tartan and celebrate the game of golf with Chicago’s first and oldest non-profit, with all proceeds benefitting the organization’s elder care mission at Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care

CHICAGO -- Dust off those clubs, throw on some tartan, and get ready to swing for a great cause! Chicago Scots, Illinois’ first and oldest non-profit organization, invites golfers of all levels to the 24th Annual Kilted Classic Golf Tournament on Tuesday, September 23, at Cantigny Golf Club (27W270 Mack Road). Proceeds benefit Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care, the principal charity of the Chicago Scots. Guests can expect bagpipes, Highland dancers, Scottish trivia, and a festive atmosphere that celebrates both heritage and giving back.

Presented by Roscoe Company, the tournament kicks off with an 11:00am shotgun start and features a full day of friendly competition, Scottish flair, and community spirit. Whether a seasoned golfer or a first-time participant, the Kilted Classic offers something for everyone - including skill contests, whisky prizes on every hole, and the always-entertaining Roscoe Massed Putt. Registration is available online for foursome, pairs or single players. Kilts can be rented at check in on tournament day.

Golfers will compete for incredible prizes including a golf trip to Scotland with airfare for two, and bragging rights from contests like Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and the playful Nessie Challenge or Beat the Scot – a chance to outplay Chicago Scots President Gus Noble OBE himself.

"Golf was born in Scotland over 500 years ago, and it’s amazing to see how it brings people together to support our mission here in Illinois,” said Noble. “The Kilted Classic is the perfect way to spend a fall day- full of fun, camaraderie, and meaningful impact.”

Special thank you to our 2025 Kilted Classic Committee: Curtis Linder – Chair, Brendan Caulfield, Don Cook, Bill Del Principe, Archie Edgar, Ashley Gill, Joey Guzzardo, Rick King, Rusty Magner, Scott McAdam Jr. & Tim Wojcik.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available and range from $100 to $5,000, allowing organizations to display logos at various locations across the course including food stations and bar carts, presentation of the winner’s prize and the ability to showcase brands to every golfer in attendance. For more information regarding sponsorship opportunities, please email Dawn Miller at dawnmiller@chicagoscots.org.

The Kilted Classic is just one of many events that support the Chicago Scots’ mission. Funds raised directly benefit Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care, a trusted and compassionate community for older adults.

Founded as the Illinois Saint Andrew Society in 1845, when Chicago was a small frontier town, population 12,000, the Chicago Scots is the first and longest running charitable organization in Illinois. Chicago Scots is the only non-profit of its kind in the world, authentically rooted in Scottish traditions, values and community, while providing excellent senior care across a full continuum of service. In addition to preserving and strengthening the enduring bonds of friendship between Scotland and North America by hosting events that educate, entertain, and promote Scottish culture, the Chicago Scots support one of the finest senior living and memory care campuses in greater Chicagoland – Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care in North Riverside, IL. Purposeful and proactive in the approach, the Chicago Scots are consistently on the cutting-edge of care for the residents of Caledonia Senior Living, where there was not a single resident COVID fatality during the pandemic.
