Chicago’s Top Fair for Emerging Artists Returns April 11-14 to Artifact Events

Chicago, IL -- Prepare to immerse yourself in a vibrant celebration of emerging artists as The Other Art Fair returns for its 6th Chicago edition at Artifact Events from April 11-14. The Other Art Fair Chicago will feature original works of art from 110+ independent Artists and will kick off with an Opening Night event on Thursday, April 11, Interactive Workshops, Guest Artists, DJ Sets, Art Swap Shop and so much more. 1. Meet the Artists and SHOP

Showcasing works by over 110 talented artists, all of whom have been specially selected by an expert-led selection committee. 2. The Art Swap Shop

The Art Swap Shop is a thrilling game of artistic exchange. The concept is simple: attendees can bring in an original piece of art they no longer cherish and exchange it for something new. Whether you're a seasoned collector looking to refresh your collection or an aspiring artist hoping to showcase your talent, the Art Swap Shop welcomes all. The catch? You won't know what you’re swapping for until you've got it.

3. Home is Where the Art Lives

Meet The Englewood Arts Collective (named Chicago Reader's Best art group 3X) as they invite you into their “living room”. Immerse yourself in a diverse range of engaging activities that pay homage to the vibrant spirit of the Englewood neighborhood. Stop by their space to take part in workshops, spanning Beatmaking, Printmaking, Mosaics, and Macrame. Immerse yourself in the captivating exhibition, SEND IT, a tribute to the iconic PRIORITY MAIL sticker. Throughout the years, this sticker has transcended into a symbol of modern street art and graffiti, providing a platform for individuals of all backgrounds to freely express themselves artistically. Curated by All Star Press, a multifaceted Chicago art destination renowned for its limited-edition artist prints from across the globe, the exhibition offers a unique twist on the USPS priority mail label. Their booth, resembling a Post Office, showcases exclusive limited edition works inspired by this iconic symbol.

5. The New Futures Awardee

As part of The Other Art Fair’s continued mission to break down traditional barriers of the contemporary art world, the New Futures program is designed to launch the careers of talented emerging artists. This year’s winner is: Reevah Agarwaal. Reevah is an artist from New Delhi, India, currently based in Chicago, IL. Through textiles and collage, her work explores girlhood and the complex dualities that exist in domestic relationships.

6. FriYay! Friday Late with AMFM

Join The Other Art Fair and AMFM on Friday April 11, 6-10pm for Friday Late. Enjoy a curated program of music, including DJ sets and live performances.

7. Food Truck Social

Calling all foodies, the 5411 Gourmet Empanadas and Yum Dum Food Truck will be serving their delectable bites at the Fair so you won’t go hungry while shopping and exploring art. Need a pick me up? Grab a coffee and delight on Vietnamese sweet treats from Fat Miilk!

8. You Are Beautiful

Matthew Hoffman is an American public artist and designer based in Chicago and the artist behind the famed “You Are Beautiful” art project. Purchase a piece of artwork at The Other Art Fair and receive a specially commissioned “You Are Beautiful” sticker.

9. Chicago Art Department presents: Catie Burrill and Marylu Herrera

Experience the rich narratives woven by Catie Burrill and Marylu Herrera through two installations presented by the Chicago Art Department. Burrill's jumbo-sized soft sculptures and Herrera's Chicana heritage impaired installations celebrate diverse cultural histories and the craft of women's work, reflecting CAD's commitment to fostering equitable artistic opportunities.

10. Immerse Yourself

Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves and participate in interactive experiences throughout the fair. On Opening Night, grab a slice of cake thanks to Colossal and Chicago’s Dream Cake Test Kitchen.
