PASTOR MICHAEL EADDY AND MAJOR RELIGOUS LEADERS TO JOIN TOGETHER FOR A MICHIGAN AVENUE PRAYER WALK
FROM MICHIGAN AVENUE TO UVALDE, TEXAS, BUFFALO, NY TO ORANGE COUNTY GUN VIOLENCE AND MENTAL HEALTH MUST BECOME THE #1 PRIORITY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Saturday, May 28th, 2022 @ 12:45 PM
401 N. Michigan, (Between Tribune Tower and Apple Store), Chicago, Illinois
A coalition of Faith Leaders, Elected Officials, Community Leaders, Cook County residents, and businesspersons will join together in a Michigan Avenue March for Peace in Chicago. The march will kick off at 1:00 p.m. from 401 N. Michigan traveling south to Millennium Park Chicago where they will convene a mass demonstration/prayer at the Bean exhibit.
“We want to thank the Mayor, CPD Superintendent Dave Brown and other city leaders who will cut off southbound Michigan so that we can send our strongest message ever to not only Chicago, but to the world that gun violence and mental health must become America’s top priority. “
Eaddy adds,” This is not just a Chicago problem. We have seen hate evolve into mass violence in Buffalo, church shootings in Orange County, erratic shootings in Millennium Park, and now Uvalde. America must address these issues through legislation and funding. Our country is hurting.”
Faith Leaders felt compelled to organize this march as a response to the increase in gun violence throughout Cook County. The violence has now reached every sector of Chicago, including downtown Chicago. But this clarion call will now be addressed to the United States Congress where there are current common sense gun law proposals that have been stalled due to the unfortunate influence of Gun Lobby groups.
This mass group of faith leaders have partnered with the popular Hand Across Chicago organization in the collective community actions being conducted throughout the Memorial Day Weekend. The mass group is also being organized by:
Together Chicago—One City, One Mission-Bishop
Ed Peecher
Support the Surge—Pastor Michael Eaddy
Chicagoland United in Prayer –Dr. John Fuder
The march will kick off saturday, May 28th at 12:45 from 401 N. Michigan. The City of Chicago is allowing the mass group to march south to the Bean exhibit at Millennium Park. It is there where the group will be joined by residents from throughout Cook County in an hour-long demonstration and prayer.Latest Stories
