There Is No Room For Racial Bias or Racial Profiling In Our Justice System
These strategies are vital as we address our burgeoning incarceration system and the devastating collateral impact of criminal convictions of non-violent crimes on our families and in our communities.
Our Judges must apply the law to the facts in a fair and impartial way and decide only the issues before me in the courtroom. However, they should also provide leadership through engagement with important judicial issues, not only in the courthouse, but also in the community, as guided by the judicial canon of ethics.
They must engage the community to attract diverse community participation in the justice system.
