Collaboration sets the stage for Unique.Fashion Launch

Unique.Fashion recently launched in collaboration with OnPoint Manufacturing (OPM) and the Fashion Institute of Technology’s FIT/Infor DTech Lab.

The partnership will lay the groundwork for FIT to launch its own branded lines of apparel and accessories. FIT will develop a brand and a series of labels designed, marketed, and retailed by students through Unique.Fashion and manufactured using OnPoint’s innovative mass personalization on-demand manufacturing solutions and services.

Unique.Fashion is delivering a revolutionary, new experience for women. Powered by OnPoint’s computer directed manufacturing (CDM System), Unique.Fashion allows the consumer to create a personalized garment based on their preferences for style and color. And in stark contrast to today’s traditional sizing models, Unique.Fashion, in cooperation with OnPoint and the PAAT network, enables the consumer to create a personalized size that equates to a custom-tailored garment by simply inputting a few variables.

Consumers who visit Unique.Fashion are guided through a process which takes just seconds, asking for fewer than a handful of data points regarding specific body measurements. Through advanced backend technologies, these data points are input into the Human Solutions size engine and translated into OnPoint Manufacturing’s state of the art, on-demand mass personalization apparel facility where the garment is produced and delivered to the end consumer in a matter of days.

“For years the industry has suffered and continues to be constrained by an outdated and non-consumer centric design, product development, and delivery model, especially when it comes to meeting the need for personalization in apparel,” says J. Kirby Best, chairman, OnPoint Manufacturing and PAAT. “Unique.Fashion and OPM are working with others to soon provide brands, designers and design students with the necessary, affordable tools to get closer to the consumer. It is time for the apparel industry to reap the profitability, sustainability, and speed to market that other industries enjoy by embracing the on-demand model.”

OnPoint Manufacturing (OPM) specializes in Purchase Activated On-Demand Mass Customization of apparel. For more information, visit www.onpointmanufacturing.com.
