BREAKING GLASS PICTURES TO RELEASE ISAIAH RUSSELL'S HORROR-THRILLER
CAMP NIGHT OCTOBER 13
A weekend camping trip becomes a fight for survival when a vengeful urban legend refuses to stay buried
New York, NY (October 1, 2026) – Breaking Glass Pictures will release Camp Night, a new horror-thriller from director Isaiah Russell, on Amazon and Fandango October 13. Written by Darrell Murray, the film follows five friends from Chicago who are invited on a weekend getaway in the woods, only to find themselves hunted by a deadly legend that has waited generations to collect what it's owed.
Camp Night stars Lonnie Davis (Rodney), Aniah Davis (Annie Mae), Brendan Mertens (Paul), Casey Brockway (Bandit), Dina Aldabbagh (Whit), Eric Jacobson (Todd), Gavin Zbynski (Josh), Marlissa Stalling (Scarlett), Heaven Williams (Toy), Kareen Noble (Cam), Lawrence Mead (Fats), and Tyra Renee (Sabrina).
At the center of the story is a group whose workplace ties are put to the test the moment the trip goes wrong. "The workplace relationships were the catalyst for everyone to agree to go to the woods for this camping trip," Russell said. "However, when they get there, they discover the boundaries of that group dynamic."
That trauma is the engine of the film's central legend. "The origin story, I would say, is the plight of our antagonist, Annie Mae Moore. Something awful happens to her," Russell said. "Revenge, retribution, and consequence are at the center of why the antagonist refuses to stay buried. Also, family lineage, and passing down the burden of that lineage to future generations, is at the center of the story as well."
Race plays a role too, shaping the trauma that turns the antagonist into the person she eventually becomes. "Race shapes the lens of the characters in the film," Russell said. "Each character has a different world view, a different set of life experiences, so race plays a part in shaping their lens from that perspective."
Russell describes the finished film as something that resists easy categorization. "Camp Night is a horror-thriller film with many layers. You have social commentary, comedy, drama, and action in this film. It touches many cultures, and it's a well-rounded film. It's a film that I believe will be a cult classic," he said.
Asked about the genre lineage Camp Night runs alongside — films like The Cabin in the Woods, Wrong Turn, and The Ritual — Russell said the goal was to test his characters' instincts under pressure. "I hope this film inspires conversations of putting people in uncomfortable, unfamiliar settings, and seeing how they react to the environment they're in, for survival."
He drew a more direct line to films like Get Out and Candyman, both of which use inherited fear to speak to something larger than the scare itself. "There is certainly a subtext," Russell said. "The center of the movie is a manifestation of the trauma that our antagonist experienced long ago, and those ghosts coming back to haunt people, literally. If there is no reconciliation or atonement for some of the atrocities committed to certain communities, those ghosts will manifest themselves, one way or another."
Russell sees the film reaching genre fans and casual audiences alike. "I think people with simple desires to be entertained will definitely be entertained. There are jump scares, action sequences, and truly frightening moments that will move viewers in some way, shape, or fashion."
"We are thrilled to bring Camp Night to horror fans this October," said Richard Wolff, CEO of Breaking Glass Pictures. "Isaiah has made a film that respects the genre's traditions while pushing them somewhere new, and with a cast and story this bold, we think it's going to find a devoted audience fast."
Camp Night releases to Amazon and Fandango on October 13. The film will be available on Tubi on December 10
