* At 9 PM Sunday the stage was 5.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is possible.
* Flood stage may be approached by Monday evening. Begin preparing for
possible flooding.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
The Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of southeast Maryland, northeast North Carolina, and
Virginia, including the following areas, in southeast
Maryland, Dorchester, Inland Worcester, Maryland Beaches,
Somerset, and Wicomico. In northeast North Carolina, Bertie,
Hertford, and Northampton. In Virginia, Amelia, Brunswick,
Caroline, Charles City, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Eastern
Chesterfield (Including Col. Heights), Eastern Essex, Eastern
Hanover, Eastern Henrico, Eastern King William, Eastern King
and Queen, Eastern Louisa, Fluvanna, Gloucester, Goochland,
Greensville, James City, Lancaster, Lunenburg, Mathews,
Mecklenburg, Middlesex, New Kent, Northumberland, Nottoway,
Powhatan, Prince Edward, Prince George, Richmond, Southampton,
Surry, Sussex, Western Chesterfield, Western Essex, Western
Hanover, Western Henrico (Including the City of Richmond),
Western King William, Western King and Queen, Western Louisa,
and Westmoreland.
* Until 6 PM EDT this evening
* Showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected into early this
evening then gradually decrease in coverage thereafter through
midnight. Rainfall amounts have averaged 3 to 7 inches since
Thursday afternoon with isolated amounts in excess of 8 inches.
Additional rainfall amounts into this evening are expected to be
up to 1 inch, but locally higher amounts will still be
possible.
* While flash flooding cannot be ruled out...runoff from the
heavy rainfall will continue to result in flooding of streams
and creeks...as well as ponding of water on roadways.
