At 717 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the area. Numerous roads are blocked by high water.
Flash flooding is occurring.
Those in Georgetown up to near the National Zoo and Rock Creek
National Park as well as near Connecticut Avenue and American
University should seek higher ground immediately. Avoid area creeks
and streams. They are rising very rapidly. 1.5 to 2 inches of rain
has fallen in the last hour and another 1 to 2 inches is expected.

Arlington, Alexandria, Rockville, Bethesda, Annandale, Springfield,
College Park, Fort Washington, Greenbelt, Fairfax, Langley Park,
