The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of northeast North Carolina and Virginia, including
the following areas, in northeast North Carolina, Bertie,
Hertford, and Northampton. In Virginia, Amelia, Brunswick,
Caroline, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Eastern Chesterfield
(Including Col. Heights), Eastern Hanover, Eastern Henrico,
Eastern Louisa, Fluvanna, Goochland, Greensville, Lunenburg,
Mecklenburg, Nottoway, Powhatan, Prince Edward, Prince George,
Southampton, Sussex, Western Chesterfield, Western Hanover,
Western Henrico (Including the City of Richmond), Western King
William, and Western Louisa.
* Through Friday morning
* Heavy rain will continue to overspread the region late this
afternoon, continue through the evening, and end late tonight.
Scattered thunderstorms will also be possible this evening.
Storm total rainfall of 3 to 6 inches is expected in the watch
area. Locally higher amounts are possible.
* This rainfall could produce flash flooding, particularly in
areas of poor drainage and near creeks, streams, and ditches.
Street flooding is likely.
