* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
late this afternoon.
* At 24.0 feet...Portions of Center St begin to flood and some
residential areas are threatened.
This river level is comparable to a previous crest of 24.1 feet on
May 21 2018.

* Until 1030 AM EDT Friday.
* At 1032 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that heavy rain has fallen over the area. Six to eight inches of
rain have fallen over Prince Edward, Amelia, and Nottoway
Counties, and two to five inches elsewhere in the warned area.
Runoff from heavy rain will continue to result in significant rises
of creek and rivers overnight into Friday morning. This is a very
dangerous situation. Do not drive through high water and seek
higher ground if necessary.
