The National Weather Service in Wakefield has expanded the
* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of central Virginia,
east central Virginia, and north central Virginia, including
the following areas, in central Virginia, Amelia, Cumberland,
Eastern Chesterfield (Including Col. Heights), Eastern
Hanover, Eastern Henrico, Eastern Louisa, Goochland, Powhatan,
Prince Edward, Western Chesterfield, Western Hanover, and
Western Henrico (Including the City of Richmond). In east
central Virginia, Western King William. In north central
Virginia, Caroline.
* From Thursday morning through Friday morning
* Heavy rain will spread into the region starting late Thursday
morning, continuing Thursday night, before ending by daybreak
Friday. Storm total rainfall of 2 to 4 inches is expected north
of VA State Route 360, with 3 to 6 inches farther south.
* This rainfall could produce flash flooding, particularly in
areas of poor drainage and near creeks, streams, and ditches.
Street flooding is likely.
