...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING THROUGH
SUNDAY MORNING...
The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of southeast Texas...including
the following counties...Brazos...Burleson...Grimes...
Houston...Madison and Washington.
* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Sunday morning
* The development of slow moving rain clusters and thunderstorms
within a highly moist Gulf of Mexico air mass pooling just
downstream of a central Texas stationary front will create a
scenario of high rainfall rates across the Watch Area this
evening. Widespread 1 to 3 inches, with locally higher amounts
of between 3 to 5 inches, are possible across the far northern
forecast area, or generally north of a Brenham to Groveton line.
* Rainfall rates that exceed 2 inches per hour will induce the
flooding of low lying areas and roadways. Please take caution if
out of the roadways after dark and be aware of flooded low
lying areas or rural roadways.
