...FLASH FLOOD THREAT CONTINUES TODAY...
.The combination of a tropical wave near the Rio Grande and
convergence near the coast will contribute to the development of
scattered to numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms, along
with heavy rainfall, over portions of South Texas this morning.
The combination of rainfall and saturated soils will maintain the
risk for flash flooding. However, the risk for flash flooding will
be confined to the Rio Grande Plains and Brush Country this
afternoon.
...FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* A portion of south Texas, including the following areas,
Aransas Islands, Calhoun Islands, Coastal Aransas, Coastal
Calhoun, Coastal Refugio, Goliad, Inland Calhoun, Inland
Refugio, and Victoria.
* Until 10 AM CDT this morning
* Tropical moisture will combine with moisture convergence and
contribute to scattered to numerous showers and isolated
thunderstorms early this morning. Very saturated soils across
the area will allow for efficient runoff of new rainfall and
pose a continued risk for flash flooding. An additional 1 to 2
inches with isolated 3 inches are possible early this morning.
Conditions are expected to improve by late morning.
