  • ...A HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR WEST TEXAS AND SOUTHEAST
    NEW MEXICO THROUGH THIS EVENING...
    .A strong upper level ridge will result in one more day of strong
    heating across the forecast area this afternoon, with high
    temperatures well into the triple digits. The heat could
    result in hazardous conditions, especially for those who have to
    be outdoors. Take precautions to protect yourself from heat
    related illness.
    ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT /7 PM MDT/ THIS
    EVENING...
    * TEMPERATURE...95 to 100 in the lower elevations of Davis
    Mountains, 100 to 107 degrees across southeast New Mexico and
    the Permian Basin with temperatures near 110 degrees along the
    Rio Grande.
    * IMPACTS...This is expected to be the last day of overly hot
    temperatures which could result in heat-related illnesses.
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air- conditioned room, stay
    out of the sun as much as possible, and check on relatives and
    neighbors.
