GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS, VAN HORN CORRIDOR, REEVES COUNTY, AND GAINES
COUNTY...
.The base of an upper level trough will move over the area on
Tuesday allowing for strong winds to mix down to the surface. This
will allow for strong to damaging winds across southeast New
Mexico, the northwest Permian Basin, the Guadalupe Mountains, Van
Horn Corridor, and Reeves County. Blowing dust will likely
accompany the strong winds and result in reduced visibilities.

EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a High
Wind Watch, which is in effect from Tuesday morning through
Tuesday evening.
* TIMING...Mid Tuesday morning to Tuesday evening.
* WINDS...Southwest to west 35-45 mph with gusts to 65 mph in the
Guadalupe Mountains. Southwest to west 30-45 mph with gusts of
50-60 mph in the plains.
* IMPACTS...High winds could make driving difficult for
motorists driving high profile vehicles such as campers, vans,
and tractor trailers. Take action to secure trash cans, lawn
furniture and other loose or lightweight outdoor objects. The
high winds can topple trees, down power lines and damage some
structures.
