...FIRST STRONG COLD FRONT TO MOVE THROUGH SOUTH TEXAS MONDAY
MORNING...
The first major cold front of the cool season will move through
South Texas Monday morning, bringing showers and thunderstorms
along with much colder temperatures. The cold front is expected to
enter the Northern Brush Country between 3 AM CDT and 6 AM CDT
Monday, then push through Corpus Christi, Laredo, and Victoria
between 5 AM and 9 AM CDT Monday. The cold front is expected to
reach the offshore coastal waters by Noon and be well south and
east of the area.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected near, along and
behind the boundary. Some strong storms may be possible, with
winds of 40 mph or more and small hail, mainly along and near the
boundary. Isolated severe storms are also possible. Locally heavy
rainfall is possible with the thunderstorms as they move across
the area, and minor flooding will be possible with the wet soils
due to recent rainfall.
Behind the front, temperatures will fall during the day. By mid
Monday afternoon temperatures will be in the 50s. Gusty northerly
winds of 15 to 20 mph will result in wind chills in the 40s over
the northern and western portions of South Texas, with lower to
mid 50s over the southeastern areas.
Residents should prepare for these much cooler temperatures and
winds. Monitor NOAA Weather Radio for the latest information...
forecasts...and warnings.
