...LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL LEADING TO FLASH FLOODING POSSIBLE
TODAY AND SUNDAY...
.Bands of showers and thunderstorms will produce periods of
tropical downpours through this weekend. When and where these
bands will develop is difficult to pinpoint, but the threat for
heavy rainfall from them will persist as long as an associated
area of low pressure lingers in southern Texas. Much of the watch
area is near-saturated from recent rainfall, and any additional
heavy rainfall could quickly lead to flash flooding.
...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* A portion of south central Texas, including the following
areas, Blanco, Caldwell, Comal, De Witt, Gonzales, Guadalupe,
Hays, Karnes, Lavaca, and Wilson.
* Through this evening
* Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will impact
the region. Widespread 1 to 3 inches of rainfall are expected
through Saturday evening, with isolated pockets near 7 inches
possible. Due to sensitivity of nearly-saturated grounds over
the area, any additional heavy rains will result in quick run-
off and an increased risk for flash flooding.
* Flooding of low water crossings and urban areas is possible.
