  • ...Minor Flooding Still Possible Through Daybreak Today Across the
Deep South Texas Ranchlands and Upper Valley...
.Pockets of heavy rainfall fell across the Watch area overnight.
Zapata, Starr, and northern Jim Hogg were hardest hit with radar
estimates and rain gauge data of 2 to 4 inches, possibly 5 or more
inches in a few spots. Jim Hogg County Airport northwest of
Hebbronville picked up nearly 4 inches, and Zapata County Airport
over 1.5 inches, with estimates of 3 to 5 inches over the
ranchlands of northern Zapata County. Light to moderate rains will
continue in these areas, which could keep minor flooding of poor
drainage locations both in towns and on rangeland.
...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT THIS
    MORNING...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
    * A portion of Deep South Texas, including the following areas,
Brooks, Coastal Kenedy, Inland Kenedy, Jim Hogg, Starr, and
    Zapata.
    * Until 7 AM CDT this morning
    * An additional one half to one inch of rain could exacerbate any
    ongoing flooding through daybreak.
    * Low-lying and poorly-draining ranch and rural areas as well as
developed locations could see flooding on roads and streets with
water depth of a couple feet or more. Small streams and arroyos
may continue to run fast and near bankfull, possibly resulting
in minor flooding. Driving could continue to be difficult in
prone locations, and early morning drivers are urged to slow
down and find alternative routes if necessary.
