...Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain possible today...
.An upper level disturbance is moving through the area this
afternoon, ahead of a moist, unstable, tropical airmass. Drier air
has pushed into most areas west of the Rio Grande, ending the
rainfall, but there remains a slight chance for localized flooding
further to the east. Drier air will work across the remainder of
the area this evening, ending the heavy rain/flooding threat
overnight.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of South-Central New Mexico including Otero and
Southern Dona Ana Counties, and Far West Texas, including El
Paso and Hudspeth Counties.
* Until 10 PM MDT this evening
* Locally heavy rainfall with isolated totals of up to 2 inches
of rain will be possible.
* Heavy rain could lead to flash flooding of low water
crossings, poor drainage areas and other flood prone areas,
including recent burn scars in area mountains. Some road
closures may be required with property damage possible around
flood prone locations.
