...THE COLDEST AIR OF THE SEASON WILL BRING A RISK OF SUB-
FREEZING TEMPERATURES SUNDAY NIGHT...
A strong cold front move through the South Plains during the day
on Sunday. Gusty northerly winds behind the front will carry in
the coldest air of the season. Many locations, especially on the
Caprock, will likely experience their first freeze of the season
Monday morning, with sub-freezing temperatures possible again
Tuesday morning. The chilly temperatures and gusty northerly winds
will make it feel like the teens and lower 20s Monday morning. In
addition, a light wintry mix may visit the southwest Texas
Panhandle and northwest South Plains Sunday night into Monday
morning. Although any wintry precipitation should be light, it
could create a few slick spots where temperatures fall into the
20s.
