The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a
* Flood Advisory for...
Eastern Denton County in north central Texas...
Western Collin County in north central Texas...
Southeastern Grayson County in north central Texas...
Northern Fannin County in north central Texas...
* Until 630 PM CDT.
* At 429 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated localized and brief,
moderate to heavy rainfall which will cause urban and small creek
flooding. Areas that are low lying or usually experience poor
drainage are most likely to experience flooding across from Denton
and Frisco, to Celina, Anna, and northern McKinney, to Sherman and
Bonham. Automated rain gauges in the area have already reported
localized amounts between a third of an inch to two thirds of an
inch. Though this isn`t overly heavy amounts of rain, current
supersaturation of soils will result in excessive water runoff
that will cause some low water crossings in the region to become
flooded or even impassable. Another quarter inch or more of rain
is possible through 630 pm.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Plano, McKinney, Carrollton, Frisco, Denton, Lewisville, Allen,
Coppell, Sherman, The Colony, Corinth, Highland Village, Bonham,
Lake Dallas, Lake Lewisville, Little Elm, Prosper, Anna, Fairview
and Celina.
