SWISHER AND SOUTHEASTERN LAMB COUNTIES...
At 1232 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
two nearly stationary bands of showers and thunderstorms with heavy
rain. One extended from near Kress southwest to Levelland. The
second extended across Lubbock into Terry County. Brief
thunderstorms with very heavy rain will continue to move up the
lines and produce areas of minor flooding. Numerous streets in
Lubbock will see flooding. Up to two inches of rain have already
fallen.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lubbock, Plainview, Levelland, Brownfield, Abernathy, Hale Center,
Wolfforth, Shallowater, Anton, Kress, Cotton Center, Spade,
Claytonville, Lubbock South Plains Mall, Locketville, Halfway, Slide,
Woodrow, Reese Center and Texas Tech University.
Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over the area.
This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
