.Stable high pressure spreading across Texas will maintain another
day of high heat across the Rio Grande Valley and Deep South
Texas today. The excessive heat will combine with increased
surface humidity to bring heat index values to potentially
dangerous levels this afternoon across southern Hidalgo County.
...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 6 PM CDT
THIS EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a Heat
Advisory, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 6 PM CDT
this evening.
* TEMPERATURE...High temperatures climbing into the 102 to 104
degree range by late this afternoon.
* HEAT INDEX...Rising to between 110 and 113 degrees by 3 PM and
continuing until 6 PM.
* IMPACTS...Persons spending time outside today are urged to
hydrate continuously before, during, and after outdoor work or
activity. Take frequent breaks in shady areas in order to keep
cool. Those who do not follow heat safety tips will be
susceptible to heat exhaustion or heat stroke due to
dehydration.
