• Flash Flood Watch for Coastal Willacy County, Texas
  • Flash Flood Watch issued October 21 at 3:45AM CDT until October 22 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS
  • Effective: Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 3:45 a.m.
  • Expires: Monday, October 22, 2018 at 10 a.m.
  • ...Heavy rainfall possible today and tonight...
.The threat of moist Gulf air nosing into the southeast portion
of the county warning area along a convergent boundary will
continue through Monday. Broad scale geographic and temporal
forecast rain amounts currently fall shy of flash flood guidance,
but moderate to heavy raining and slow moving cells, possibly
training over the same area, could lead to isolated pockets of
flooding today through Monday before most convection moves north.
...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
    * Coastal Cameron, Coastal Kenedy, Coastal Willacy, Inland
Cameron, Inland Kenedy, Inland Willacy, Northern Hidalgo, and
    Southern Hidalgo.
    * Through Monday morning
    * Slow moving moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms
producing rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with locally higher
    amounts possible.
    * Low-lying and poorly-draining areas as well as urban locations
could see flooding on roads and streets with water depths of
two to three feet. Heavy rainfall in a short period of time will
cause street and creeks to overflow. Driving may be difficult
to impossible, and motorists are urged to find alternative
    routes.
