...Travel impacts possible today due to ongoing freezing drizzle
and freezing rain...
Cold air is in place across South-Central Texas as temperatures
have fallen into the upper 20s and the low 30s. Furthermore,
scattered drizzle to light rain showers have developed, resulting
in patchy icing, are currently ongoing across the Hill Country,
portions of the Escapement, and the higher terrain of west Travis
and west Williamson Counties. Emergency manager and social media
reports indicate that light icing has occurred, and given current
observational trends, is likely to persist through the mid-
afternoon hours. All precipitation is expected to end by early
evening.
Overall accumulations of liquid rainfall will be light from a
trace to upwards of 0.10" inches. The amount of icing will depend
on wind, droplet size, and the temperature locally.
Minor impacts to travel are possible as exposed roadways and
bridges could become icy in the higher precipitation rate areas
across the winter weather advisory area.
