.A strong upper level ridge will result in one more day of strong
heating across the forecast area today with high temperatures
expected to be well into the triple digits. This prolonged period
of very hot temperatures will result in hazardous conditions,
especially for those who have to be outdoors. Take precautions to
protect yourself from heat related illness.

EVENING...
* TEMPERATURE...95 to 100 in the lower elevations of Davis
Mountains, 100 to 107 degrees across southeast New Mexico and
the Permian Basin with temperatures near 110 degrees along the
Rio Grande.
* IMPACTS...An extended period of hot temperatures is expected
and will create a situation in which heat-related illnesses
are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an
air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun as much as possible,
and check on relatives and neighbors.
