...Locally Heavy Rain over the Next Several Days...
A nearly stationary frontal boundary combined with several upper
level impulses will lead to periods of heavy rain today through
Wednesday. Rainfall totals will range from 1 to 4 inches through
this time frame with the bulk of it west of the Cumberland Plateau
today and Monday and then shifting to the Plateau and southern
mid-state counties Tuesday and Wednesday.
While these amounts are typically something we can handle without
flash flooding, a combination of excessive rainfall totals in
several areas over the last 36 hours and the likelihood that much
of this rain could come in very heavy bursts with slow-moving
storms, localized flash flooding may become a possibility.
Please remain weather aware for the next couple of days and be
alert for the latest updated forecasts regarding any flash flood
potential.
